February 20th, 2012triplets turn one!
February 20th, 2012i got to hang out with TRIPLETS yesterday!! these precious babies just turned one, and i was lucky enough to have the opportunity to photograph them. we had so much fun…
we got some great shots of the babies together, and separate as well…
and at the very end, we had the most hilarious cake smash with THREE babies… and then promptly put them all in the sink to clean up. i was so grateful to spend the morning with these kiddos, and i got some snuggle time in, too!
heading to new england!
January 4th, 2012jenny hughes photography is heading to new england! casey got an awesome promotion this week and we are taking the family on another cross-country adventure. we aren’t sure where we’ll settle down yet – casey and i are heading out there next month to explore all the areas and hopefully find a house!i have truly enjoyed photographing families and children and newborns out here in the seattle area. if you are out here and looking for a great photographer, i am referring all my clients to the talented jen orbistondo. jen is not only a fabulous photographer, but she is a great friend, too. we hired jen to photograph our family last summer and this past fall. she is wonderful with kids, knows fabulous locations, and produces beautiful, timeless images.
if you happen to be in the new england area, keep an eye out for me soon! so excited for this new adventure, but very sad to leave all of our amazing friends in this amazing place. seattle is a stunning place to live, even on days like this.
i will miss you all!

December 23rd, 2011my third Oh Snap! photography workshop was this past wednesday in midlothian, virginia. it was SO.MUCH.FUN! i am so glad i decided to do this while in town over the holidays. i had 10 lovely ladies join me for an afternoon of learning, eating, drinking, and shooting! at the end of our workshop, we had three gorgeous models – ages 7, 3, and 1 – visit us for a practice photo shoot (i’ll post some of those soon) so that everyone could practice their new manual shooting skills!
if you want to be notified of the next workshop date (whether you are in washington OR virginia), be sure to like my facebook page and send me an email, too!

another lovely fall day | issaquah family photography
November 6th, 2011what a beautiful day with the wonderful h family! we ended up with fantastic weather for a family session in downtown issaquah today. we had to reschedule because of last weekend’s rain, and today ended up absolutely perfect. i am so glad we were patient and gave mother nature another chance. i last photographed this family when baby b was a teeny tiny newborn at just 5 days old (and again on day 8 because he was just so awake the first time!) it was SO much fun to see him at 9 months old – this is the golden age of babyhood, my friends. this is the age when you decide you want to have a million of them running around your house. (is it a coincidence that my own girls are 19 months apart?!) he was a dream with those big brown eyes and gave me the biggest, sweetest smiles , showing off those two front toofers. i also got to hang out with big sister t, and we chatted about fancy nancy (one of my favorite topics, i must say) and giggled over m&m bribes treats.
so how do i choose sneak peek photos? on the day of the session, once all the images are uploaded to my mac, i scan through them to rank some favorites and do a quick edit. (once i am ready to edit the entire session, i usually find even more favorites!) this time, i just couldn’t narrow it down so i am showing you way more than normal. i couldn’t resist… the weather is about to turn here and we have to celebrate beautiful fall days like this!
h family, i hope you love them so far!
being silly with dad…
and my favorite type of photo… where the family is just having fun together being silly!
day 12 | issaquah newborn photographer
November 3rd, 2011at just 12 days old, this precious little girl was alert! she hardly ever cried, but she just didn’t want to miss a thing. we got a lot of great eye contact and sweet shots with her big sister, too. (and big sister is soooo into fancy nancy… so we bonded over that!) after a lot of patience and some big car seat swinging from daddy, she finally fell asleep for us at the end. it was so great meeting you, f family! i hope you love your sneak peek!
a gorgeous family on a gorgeous fall day | issaquah family photographer
October 29th, 2011all the cards were in our favor today: beautiful skies, no rain, not too cold, and it is peak fall in issaquah – the leaves are beautiful! on top of that, this family is gorgeous and they were dressed perfectly. i enjoyed every minute with these guys, and it looks like they had a lot of fun, too!
and this is easily one of my favorite sibling shots of all time…
six days new | seattle newborn photographer
October 27th, 2011in case you didn’t know, i am a food blog junkie. so i was super excited when the talent behind daily garnish invited me into her home to photograph her beautiful baby boy at just six days new. baby c gave his mama a long, rough labor, but the outcome was well worth it. he is gorgeous and perfect. congrats to all of you, even the big brother doggies! i hope you love your sneak peek…
some sweet smiles right as we were finishing up…
he really is perfect. what a fun road ahead for this family!
